'Greenacres' Caravan Park is situated in Morfa Bycham
just out of Porthmadog on a fabulous beach-side
location on the sheltered southern coast of the Llyn
peninsular in North Wales. Five minutes from our caravan there is direct access to the magnificent two-mile golden sweep of Black Rock Sands which will be the main focus of most family holidays. The acres of golden sand as well as the sand dunes, caves and rockpools provide fascinating entertainment for children of all ages. Additionally, cars are allowed onto the beach. The Park is part of the 'Haven Holidays' group and, as such boasts all of the ammenities which you would expect. There is a large complex comprising the reception area with helpful staff, a convenience store, indoor soft play area, amusement arcade, a large indoor swimming pool plus a toddler's splash pool (both with lifeguards), a lounge bar and licensed cafe/restaurant with large TV's for sports fans and a 'Burger King' oulet. The licensed SHOWBAR offers a wide and varied range of live entertainment throughout the whole day suitable for all ages. Outside there are play areas for children, a multi-sports court, family adventure golf, a water splash area and family seating areas. Elsewhere on park there is a nice 9 hole pitch & putt course, an archery range, a hire shop with bikes/karts and a launderette. There is a Children's Fun Club with a daily range of supervised entertainment and activities. The Park also boasts it's own nature reserve suitable for relaxing strolls among the wildlife. There are regular BUS SERVICES from the Park to Porthmadog and elsewhere. NB Admittance to the complex and most of it's activities requires you to buy a family pass and these can be obtained at reasonable cost directly from the Park reception area. Very close to the Park there is a local Pub, a Spar shop, a fish & chip shop, a Post Office, Llama trekking, quad bikes and a superb 18 hole links golf course. Porthmadog is just three miles away with it's bustling High Street, Railway Station, numerous Pubs and cafes/restaurants as well as a Tesco, Wilkinsons, Aldi and Lidl. There is a beautiful harbour with the world famous Ffestiniog narrow guage steam railway. Slightly further affield are the historic Towns of Criccieth and Harlech with their ancient castles. The wonderfully eccentric Portmeirion village, iconic setting for the cult TV series 'The Prisoner' is very near and, with it's fascinating architecture and long woodland walks is a great day out. You can visit the slate mines at Blaenau Ffestiniog, enjoy a high-wire forest adventure or go horse riding, all within easy reach.
Because of it's location, the Park is the ideal base for exploring the Snodonia National Park boasting both the highest mountain and the lagest natural lake in Wales. The area is a mecca for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as climbing, canoeing, cycling, walking, photography, bird/nature watching as well as power-kiting and jet-skiing. |
